A surf ministry building young men of God in Jacó — and an open invitation for families and groups to come be part of it.
The Mission
We believe the best way to change a town is from the inside out — by discipling teenage boys to become strong, godly men who will lead their families and transform their community.
Jacó is a surf town with a powerful undercurrent of need. Young men without direction, without fathers, without purpose. We meet them in the water — and walk with them toward God.
This mission is not just for Jacó — it's an invitation. Families, churches, and groups who share a passion for the Gospel and the ocean are welcome to come down, connect with what God is doing here, and experience Costa Rica through the lens of real Kingdom work.
The Place
Jacó is Costa Rica's most accessible surf town — just 90 minutes from San José on the Pacific coast. It has world-class waves, warm water year-round, and a culture built around the ocean.
It's also a town with deep need. Young men without direction. Families under pressure. A community that needs the Gospel as much as anywhere in the world.
That's exactly why we're here — and why we invite groups and families from around the world to come experience it firsthand.
Our Foundation
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."
Matthew 28:19–20
We believe the Scripture is the inspired, authoritative Word of God — our foundation for faith and life.
We believe Jesus is the Son of God — fully God, fully man — who died for our sin and rose again.
We believe in the local church as the body of Christ, called to make disciples and serve one another.
We believe every man is called to grow in Christ — and that biblical manhood is the world's greatest need.
How We Do It
Everything we do flows through three simple commitments — and they apply whether you're a local student or a family visiting from across the world.
The ocean is our meeting place. We use surf as the common ground — accessible, exhilarating, and humbling enough to open any heart to real conversation.
We build real community — consistent, accountable, and rooted in something bigger than the waves. Young men need to belong before they can grow.
Everything points to Jesus. The surf and the brotherhood are the door. God's Word, biblical identity, and a life surrendered to Christ are what's on the other side.
"We are not just a surf club — we are a family built on faith. Whether you're coming alone or bringing a group, if God is tugging at your heart toward Jacó, trust that. Reach out. Let's talk."Salt Shore Ministries · Jacó, Costa Rica
Whether you're bringing your family, your church group, or coming alone — there is something real waiting for you in Jacó.
